Restorer-to-callI am an avid reader that is inclined to spread my reading love amid various genres. However, there is one in particular category that I simply could never quite get a grasp on, no matter how hard I tried. Yes, I am referring to Shakespeare.

As a result of the last deluge of rain, which generated multiple calls from frantic property owners in the Jefferson City area inundated with wet basements, I grew to appreciate the wisdom of the great William Shakespeare, who by most is considered to be the greatest playwright of all time. Many facets about his life remain shrouded in mystery. In today’s time William would be considered anti-social. In other words, not a good candidate for a reality show.

One call in particular reminded me of the famous line from Hamlet (Act III, Scene I). The caller who lives on the outskirts of Jefferson City, had some flooding to his basement, but was facing the dilemma of “To Call, or not to call; that was the question”?

Abled body as he was, the thought of tackling a drying project by himself, lacking any experience or training left him bedazzled, especially considering that his insurance policy doesn’t provide for coverage on a wet basement in Jefferson City, or most anywhere for that matter, when the water originates from outside.

In this particular instance, with the higher power and intelligence of his lovely wife, (you married up Jeff. Just kidding) they decided to tackle the project on their own with the help of Disaster Brigade, USA and our equipment rental division ECONODRY.

The project ended well, with a drying cycle of just under 5 days and roughly fifty percent less than what is would have cost to employ the services of a “Restoration” contractor. With minimal amount of help from our trained experts, their Jefferson City Hamlet (pardon the pun) with a wet basement is as dry as a bone.

“When shall we three meet again in thunder, lightning, or in rain? When the hurly-burly’s done, When the battle’s lost and won”. Macbeth Quote (Act I, Scene I).
